Coach Harbaugh Brought Me Back

I just read the last post I wrote, and in the comments section, my boy back home wrote "you'll be back, see you soon."  Which I actually did see him soon, at Army/Navy in Baltimore, where he promptly ran out of dinner the first night, afraid he might puke, after doing a shot with Mojo when we were already 4 beers and a fifth of rum deep.  Let me tell you, this pair makes for a good time:

Dark and Stormy
I digress... much like the media back home in the D, which has done nothing but follow Coach Harbaugh around like a bunch of crazy teens after the Beebs.  I'm not one of those Michigan fans who expected 10-11 wins this year (I predicted 7-5), but did the hiring of Harbaugh finally make me excited about college football again?  Hells yes!  Like many things, e.g., Bells Oberon and Summer Shandy on hot days, Labatt Blue as the maintenance beer, coneys, Faygo Rock and Rye, and 4th of July on a lake, college football reminds me of the D.  Having it back in my life means being able to text my Michigan hater friend and drive him nuts every week, being able to hang my M flag with "pride" (I may or may not have forgotten to put it up this week), and being able to break down a team I care about with my friends (thanks a lot for missing out on that this summer, Brad Ausmus).

So the blog is back.  I have no idea in what capacity.  I do plan to honor my last post and make sure this is fun for me, so some of the pics, links, etc. might be gone.  I'm hoping to elicit some guest writers, especially one who I've been pushing to start his own blog for years (hint - BOIOIOIOING!).  Who knows.  We're not here to cash in on ads or anything.  Just a way for us to talk, me to make sure my peeps back home know I never forget them, and my peeps here get to know this side of me just a little bit more (though I think they probably already think they know too much).  I've been tweeting, and will keep on tweeting.  Now would be a good time to start following and read back the tweets that went back and forth with said Michigan hater above during the Utah/Michigan debacle.  Click here to start following.

First topic - The Utah/Michigan debacle.  Facts - Utah has more talent, playing at home in altitude, is a sleeper Pac 12 team, and returned a hell of a lot of starters.  They are better than Michigan, a fact I think was lost on a lot of Michigan fans.  I was excited they had a chance to win this game.  This season is all about progress.  That game represented progress.  Much better tackling, poise, discipline, and most notably, coaching.  They had an actual game plan, and stuck with it.  Unlike Harbaugh, I do place some blame on the QB here.  You can't miss 2 wide open receivers for TDs and expect to win.  I'll give a pass on the 3rd one up the middle to the tight end where he got hit, but that one is the type of pass that an Ohio State or Michigan State completes.

This team is clearly low on talent, but they were coached up.  That's a great sign.  As I texted my buddy after we threw the 3rd pick, "you can't coach stupid" and "our starting QB next year is currently in high school."  The "Wal Mart" Michigan fans are forgetting these facts, and the fact Harbaugh won 4 and 5 games his first two years at Stanford.  Patience, Michigan fans.  They are going to get better.  They are already better.  Be rational, or dare I say, be logical?

Before we go, and huge congratulations to The Dawg on his recent engagement to the hands-down most patient woman on the planet.  Can't wait for next May, and a long overdue return of the destination bachelor party.  Next up for LB:  NFL season picks.  Contact Logical Betting at logicalbetting@gmail.com and twitter.com/logicalbetting.  As always, thanks for reading.  Hasta.
