Giving Thanks and the Week 12 picks

I'm sorry, I just had to start with that.  "Being fat is funny, but a fat person in a Smart Car is f-ing hysterical."  Unfortunately, the Googles couldn't find a pic of a fat person in a Smart Car.  Please, for the sake of humanity, someone get that pic on the Internets.  Stat.  That quote from above and that picture I found while trying to find a fat person in a Smart Car just made me love Fah T even more.

But we digress...

So the plan this week was to write a post for all the sports things I'm thankful for.  Then, LB Jr. showed up and, well, maybe parenting is a sport.  Anyways, for the sake of keeping my word, and for those keeping score at... (F**K ME!!!), here is a brief list of things I'm thankful for:

1.  Rutgers joining the Big Ten.  Why?  Cause we will now be Rutgers season ticket holders, fulfilling one of my bucket list items I forgot to post before.  Hello, Big Ten games!

2.  The NCAA tournament.

3.  The death of the BCS.

4.  USC beating Notre Dame.  (ND only a 6 point favorite???)

5.  All of you who are on my LB mailing list.  Thank you for being a part of my family's life.  I truly love all of you.

I'm thankful for you, too, buddy.

Why did my picks suck so bad last week?  Baby brain.  Duh.  That, and the Mayans must of created baby brain to stupidify our society.  I wonder if the Mayans ate turkey.  Probably yeah, but they probably didn't have stuffing.  No sweet potatoes.  No pumpkin pie.  Wild boar jerky, maybe...

Week 12 Picks - 4-9/1-2/2-0 (teasers > baby brain); 73-74-1/13-15/7-1 (seriously, someone better be playing my teasers)

Houston (-3) at Detroit - Lock #1.  Nuf said.

Dallas (-3) vs. Washington - Tempted to make this Lock #2.  Line is just strange enough to make it a stay away.  Why is Dallas so bad?

New England (-7) at NY Jets - So much for my "Pats like killer instinct" thing.  I will make this Lock #2, though.

Denver (-10.5) at Kansas City - I honestly have no idea why the Chiefs are this bad.  Maybe just need a QB?

Jacksonville (+3) vs. Tennessee - Henne just proved what the rest of us know... Blaine Gabbert is just awful.

Indianapolis (-3) vs. Buffalo - Colts bounce back.

Pittsburgh (PK) at Cleveland - Next year, when Shurmur goes, Cleveland wins games like this.

Seattle (-2.5) at Miami - You know, I got bit on the "favorites seem good" week a couple weeks ago.  I think I'm going back for one more bitten.

Tampa Bay (PK) vs. Atlanta - LOVE Tampa.  Love love love them.

Baltimore (PK) at San Diego - What the hell is that line...

St. Louis (+1) at Arizona - They should just skip this game.  Even fantasy football players don't care about this game.

New Orleans (+1.5) vs. San Francisco - This game is off the board, pending the Niners QB situation.  I'm not gonna count it, but I do think New Orleans is gonna win this game regardless.

Green Bay (+3) at NY Giants - Definitely a teaser game.  Seems like a strange line to me.  Giants off the bye, I guess.

Carolina (PK) at Philadelphia - This is also off the board in a lot of places... pending Vick, I guess.  He's not gonna play, so we'll go with this.  Philly sports talk is SOOOOO good right now...

Three Team Tease - Packers +12, Houston +6, and.... tough to find a third this week.  Tampa +9.  I like New Orleans (whatever the line ends up), Seattle, and Pittsburgh as subs, in case you don't like mine.

Will try and get a bigger post up next week.  Happy Thanksgiving.  My personal fave holiday, side note... any day where you eat food, drink, and watch football, don't have to buy presents, visit a ton of places... that, my friends, is a holiday.  Hasta.
