With a special assist from Manny Ramirez, who successfully avoided the first 100 game suspension in baseball history (so little publicity from maybe the best right handed hitter of his generation) and Barry Bonds (a-hole who cost me tons of retirement cash by cheating/making the value of about 15 rookie cards I have of his about the same as Alex Avila), I get an excuse to re-post two of our more popular posts from the archives.
Talked steroids a bit back when Mark McGwire admitted to using, and recorded a podcast with a "baseball guy in the know." He brought great knowledge, and many thanks again to him for doing the podcast. Talked about who belongs in the Hall of Fame, who we thought would get in, etc., and you can get more detailed thoughts in the full post.
Check out the steriods podcast here.
In the meantime, you can read the full transcript of the steriods post below. This is pre-"get to the point, LB" but well worth the read, as it was unanimously the most popular post we've done. Check it out on ye ol' "read more" button.

Podcast, Take 3
Aloha, and... hello. So USA soccer blew it, but we're not about to reminisce on that. How in the hell do you spell reminisce? That should be on the spelling bee.
So in lieu of actual writing, since we're coming up on the MLB midseason report, we managed to snag my father for a quick podcast talking his favorite topic, Browns football. Even if you're not a Browns fan, like the two of you are, this is a good one, and plays a fun NFL game - guess your team's record by looking at the schedule. Wife gives us today's unofficial sponsor, Banana Boat, her favorite sunscreen to wear by the pool during the many Jersey heatwaves.
Copy/paste this link and you should be able to get the podcast. Email me if you have a problem.

As I mentioned, MLB midseason report coming soon. Had some good hits (read: the Reds) and some big misses (read: Seattle, KC), during a very interesting MLB season thus far. Happy Fourth of July, everyone, party hard and be safe. Cheers!

Podcast #2, Take 2
Hey, all. LBTST is apparently on unplanned vacation, so I'm giving you the long link version of the latest podcast. Apologies to those who have tried to listen, especially Mojo, who is beyond thrilled to make his podcasting debut (I don't have the heart to tell him that I don't have much of a readership, but hey, he's happy), and J.B., who would have been our third guest last night, but I forgot the computer. Oops. Anyways, here's the link. Copy/paste this beast and you should be good to go.

Podcast #2
Hey, all. Mojo made a stop in Philly last weekend and agreed to record a podcast for your listening enjoyment. After he struggled to defend his 12 man military unit against mine, we settled on talking about what it's like being an out of town sports fan, i.e., not living in the town your teams are in. We share this in common, and got some great insight for all of you. It's safe for work, so feel free to check it out there.

You can also find the Steroids podcast on there, so check it out in the meantime. Thanks to Will from LBTST, who beat The Dog for the second straight time in getting the podcast ready for publishing. The Dog may be in line for a reduction in pay, though he is pouring his own drinks when I come see him at his bar. Anyways, let me know what you all think, and keep forwarding us on. Mojo is especially looking forward to your feedback on this one. Thanks for your support, cheers!
