Lowering the Gauntlet... Challenge, Accepted!

Now kids, I'll admit, my NFL picks this year have been a dispicable debacle a little sub par this year.  However, imagine my surprise when I received the following email from one of my most loyalest-est readers:

Ya done even pissed off Mrs. Reno!

"Please, Spare me the torture of your picks.  Just have your lovely wife pick the games and you can clean out the roof gutters on Sunday.  Rumor has it that you threw last years NFL picks up on the roof near the chimney.  While you are up there, entertain your neighbors with the Michigan fight song."

What???  Oh, you know I have something to say about that...



1.  Only my wife Nobody, and I mean nobody, talks to me like that and I don't talk back like a two year old. 


Thank God that streak is over...

2.  We actually do have neighbors who are Michigan fans and fly their M flag outside all Fall, just like we do.  And thanks to the boys last week, I'll be happy to regail them with the Michigan fight song.  And they'll like it.

3.  I will have the wife make the NFL picks this week.  And so will you, aka, MB.  And we will each pick 3 locks as a timbreaker.  So there.  And you have boogers and are a meanie head.

4.  You don't believe in the existence of the Mayans???  Did you see this story where the Mayans are starting to plant their "friendly" uber-canines amongst us to bite our heads off on December 21st?  You didn't?  Well, maybe you should scour the Internets more, because you know, everything on the Internets is true.

I'm sure you all will miss my picks commentary  Instead of my commentary this week, I thought we'd try something with a higher comedic upside... and what person might have a high comedic upside?  How about a South Jersey born and raised, die-hard Philadelphia fan, who MBS offered to trade for my first born?  Ladies and gentlemen, I bring you... MBS's daughter, LBS, aka, Little Big Shot.

Week 8 Picks - 6-6, 2-1 Locks last week;  43-50-1, 6-8 Locks, 3-0 Three-Team Teasers for Year

Tampa Bay (+7) at Minnesota (Thursday night) - LB - Tampa Bay, MBS - Tampa Bay, LBS - (After LB explains what a line means, using a million examples... mind you, she's a die-hard NFL/fantasy player) - Tampa Bay - I'm hoping AP has a bad game, I want to win this contest.

 

Washington (+5) at Pittsburgh - LB - Pittsburgh, MBS - Washington (Lock), LBS - Pittsburgh - Rooting for my college

roommates team, and they're in Pennsylvania.  The Eagles can't win, might as well keep it in Pennsylvania.  (total girl move, and she's not from PA)
 

Seattle (+2.5) at Detroit - LB - Seattle, MBS - Detroit (Lock), LBS - Man this is harder with spreads.  Detroit.  Let the state of Michigan have its moments.

 

Carolina (+7) at Chicago - LB - Chicago, MBS - Carolina, LBS - Carolina.  Just because. 

 

New England (-7) at St. Louis (in London) - LB - New England, MBS - St. Louis, LBS - New England.  LB asks why, LBS says, why not?  They're usually good.  And I like Tom Brady.

 

Indianapolis (+3.5) at Tennessee - LB - Indy, MBS - Tennesee (Lock), LBS - Indy.  I like the rookie QBs.  Luck sits the bench on one of my teams.

 

Miami (+1) at NY Jets - LB - Miami, MBS - Jets, LBS - Jets.  Tebow is going to make his magic happen.

 

San Diego (-3) at Cleveland - LB - San Diego (LB Lock 1), MBS - Cleveland, LBS - San Diego.  I want to visit San Diego soon and go to a game.  (Good reason...)

 

Jacksonville (+13) at Green Bay - LB - Green Bay (LB Lock 2), MBS - Green Bay, LBS - I feel like I'm being interrogated.  Green Bay.  I have Aaron Rodgers on my fantasy team.

 

Atlanta (+2) at Philadelphia - LB - Atlanta (LB says do not bet this game, not even a cent), MBS - Atlanta, LBS - I gotta go Eagles.  (Asked her what she thought of the Eagles season) - It's like every other season.

 

Oakland (+1) at Kansas City - LB - Kaaaa... Oaaaaa... Kansas City?  I can't pick Brady Quinn.  Can I?  Fine, Kansas City, MBS - Kansas City, LBS - Oakland.  I agree that seems to easy.   

 

NY Giants (pick em) at Dallas - LB - NY Giants (LB Lock 3), MBS - Dallas, LBS - The Giants and Dallas is a pick 'em?  Who do I want... (spoken like true Eagles fan)... I'll go Giants.  Eli is one of my fantasy teams.  (How many does she have?)  Three.  (That's hot, boys.)

 

New Orleans (+6) at Denver (Sunday night) - LB (grrrrr, don't bet this one, either) - Denver, MBS - New Orleans, LBS - Denver.  Because Peyton Manning is still Peyton Manning.  And he's on one of my teams, too.  This is going to be a high scoring game.    

 

San Francisco (-7) at Arizona - LB - San Francisco (more betting against John Skelton, yay!), MBS - Arizona, LBS - San Francisco.  I like David Akers.  I hope the token girl beats the two guys.

 

Random Three Team LB Tease - Tampa Bay +16, New England +2, NY Giants +9.  San Francisco +2 could be a substitute.  In case you didn't notice, you could have used any combination of the 5 I gave you last week... just sayin' I'm starting to finally get this season under grips.
